Here is a selection of flat roof projects we have completed
This was completed for Shingler Homes on behalf of Ricsan Developments
A large detached house with double garage completed in Spanish natural slates
This was conversion of old stable buildings into dwellings and included natural slates with a dry ridge system
This involved lots of lead work around the large chimneys
The client was keen to retain the aged appearance of the building and so we sourced 2nd hand welsh slates in a nearby reclamation yard.
The use of 2nd hand slates reduces the cost per slate but increases the likelyhood of breakages. The scheme creates a natural weathered appearance to the building
Here we used clay tiles for a listed building renovation in the heart of Shrewsbury town centre
The original roof in the background shows the contrast between old and new
This small project was provided for a client north of Shrewsbury
The log store was close to the rear outlook and so it was decided to make it part of the building with a pitched slate roof
This Arts and Crafts home in the centre of Shrewsbury had its original tiles with traditional cement 'torching' internally to prevent water ingress
We used marley plain tiles with a suitable breathable membrane to create a dry roof space, useful for storage
Lead work creates a watertight seal to keep out the elements
It is essential that this is provided carefully and in line with the associated regulations
The client was keen to insulate the polycarbonate roof of their upvc conservatory which was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.
A carpenter provided the timberwork and we insulated and covered the roof with lightweight slates making a new year round living room.
This was a new built bungalow close to Shrewsbury with a large porch to the front
We used marley plain concrete tiles and inserted velux windows to get extra light into the building
This was a gazebo built in 2014, then extended to provide an 'outdoor kitchen' during lockdown in 2020
The plain tiles ensured that the building matched the main house and the small extension blends in seamlessly
Here the client was keen to re-use the old clay tiles, but create banding with new clay tiles to provide some interest in the roof
